If I had £50 tag

Hey Guys! I'm here with another tag post! I have to say a big thank you to all the tag posts I have received, its lovely to be part of such a friendly community of bloggers! So on to the tag post! I was tagged by Emily from FrecklesandFlawsbeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk  whose 'If I had £50 tag' you can find here.

Here are the rules:
1. Pick a shop any shop. Whatever that shop is you have £50 to spend. Pick whatever you want. (Clothing shops may not work as well because sometimes it costs £50 for one thing)
2. The title of the post must be " "If I had £50" TAG " so people know what the post is about.
3. You must state that this post was created by me AlexRocksXO
4. Thank who tagged you. It's just polite :-)
5. Tag at least one person.

6. Copy and paste the rules onto the top of your post.

So here we go! I chose to 'shop' at boots because I always tend to go there for any beauty products and I always drag whoever I am with for a perv in that shop! You can find the Boots website here if you're unsure of where I am discussing.

1) Maybelline The Volum' Express Mascara Falsies - £7.99

I have tried pretty much every single Maybelline mascara bar this one so I thought I would put this in my bag. I always tend to pick up a Maybelline mascara whenever I go to boots so I thought this would be a pretty apt choice!

Go checkout my reviews of some other Maybelline mascaras:

2) Soap and Glory Sugar Crush body buttercream - £10.50

I am in LOVE with the Sugar Crush body wash that I use and I've always wanted the body cream too because of the lovely scent. But because of its price tag I have never really pushed the boat out. Maybe one day I will treat myself to it? If you would like to see my review of the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash click here.

3) Soap and Glory Heel Genius - £5.50

I have seen this in tons of reviews and blog posts and I have always wanted to try it since I have seen it appearing. I usually just use a normal body moisturizer on my feet but I would love to use this as it is specifically designed to moisturize your feet. My feet are pretty soft but have the odd scarring and rough area from when I took dance and ballet classes so again maybe one day I will try this hyped product!

4) Sally Hansen Diamond Shine Top and Base coat - £8.69

As you guys know I am obsessed with doing my nails and nail art. When I first started back when I was 15/16 trying to get my nails strong and learning not to bite them my mum used to invest the money in to the Sally Hansen range for me to treat me for when I didn't bite my nails! After I turned 16 though I kind of went off to other brands and never really returned to Sally Hansen. I took a look on the Boots website and thought it would be nice to own a top and base coat from Sally Hansen as I remembered how durable they were - however a little on the pricey side for a top and base coat for me!

5) Real Techniques Powder Brush - £12.99

Of course I was going to put a Real Techniques Brush in there! I am in love with these brushes and well I have been eyeing this one up alongside the eye brush set! So since this one was in budget I put this one in! I love love love every brush I have tried so far from the Real techniques range they are just so amazing! Go check out my review of the brushes I have tried below:

So overall my grand total was £45.67... yay under budget! Though I did see if I could find a few cheep finds to fill in that £4.33 gap! So on to the people I will be tagging!

Thanks for reading guys! So if you had £50 what would you treat yourself to?

Product Empties #5

So here we go guys another product empties blog! I hope you guys like these, I know I don't go through products as quickly as some other people but for me part of a good product is how long it lasts so I do tend to purchase long lasting products. Anyway here are the most recent ones I have finished up! If you would like to check them out here are my previous product empties blog posts:

Above: Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner

The Simple Toner is something I have been using since the beginning of December and this did last till just before June after me using it twice a day. It's a great toner and I love that it gets any remaining makeup off after I have used make up remover. Basically any product that is absorbed in to the skin is removed. So yeah this was a fantastic product for my skin and I have already repurchased and began using my second bottle.

Above: St Ives Apricot Body Scrub

This product has lasted me for a full year. The St Ives apricot scrub is something I use once a week and I have strictly stuck to that once again since December. This was part of my my skin care will be the best in can be mentality I gained before the new year! This did last me for over a year and is still my favorite product to use alongside my loofa. Love love love, already repurchased and using the next tub of this and in fact I even got this for my mum before she went on holiday. I have already re purchased this and started using that tub, I think this will always be my body scrub of choice.

Above: Easy Vision contact lense solution

Not exactly a beauty item I know but I wear contact lenses and usually I chuck out one of these after a month of it being open because these are so big I tend to find it hard to use them all up! However this got all used up! I'm so proud!

Above: St Ives Apricot Scrub - Blemish Fighting

This face scrub has lasted me an entire year, much like the St Ives body scrub, I love the long life that St Ives products have! I love the smell and feel of this product and I'm sad that I finished it even thought I have another container waiting for me as I promised myself I would try a new scrub for my face to switch it up! So yes I would/have repurchased this and yes I would totally recommend this!

What are some products you always run low on or finish up? Let me know in the comments!

NOTD - Nail of the day

Hey Guys so I thought I would post a Nail of the Day since I do my nails so often. I tend to paint my nails once or twice a week so take a look! Here is my nail look for the day it is a simple look with a ring finger that is designed to be the accent with stars and a moon diamante! The moon is placed on the bottom of the finger so that it looks like you can see beyond the moon and stars! All the nails have a base coat then a black polish that is then followed by a glitter polish. I have recently been playing around with diamante studs on my nails so it has been great coming up with design ideas!

Eclipz Argan Oil review

I have been wanting to try a deep conditioner/ hair treatment for a while. My hair isn't really damaged to be honest, in fact I have been dying it black for five years since I was 16 (god I feel old now!) and its not dried out, I don't have split ends and its still very strong and thick. The reason why I wanted to invest in a hair treatment is because when I did start dying my hair I always used to use hair treatment products to make sure it was in good condition and I loved how soft and easy to style it was back then. So I started looking again and guess where I found this product? For £4 I found this Eclipz Argan Oil hair treatment in Primark! Hair treatments can be expensive so I thought the best thing would be to try cheaper ranges and then occasionally splurge on  an expensive one! The reason why this particularly caught my attention is because Argan Oil is sort of the 'new craze' for hair, skin and nail care. Its supposed to be one of those multi-purpose ingredients that is all natural so I thought this would be a nice introduction to that craze!

Above: Argan Oil Hair Treatment

As I said this was £4 in Primark. You will have to check it out in person or maybe check amazon for online stock of this i you don't lie in the UK. For £4 you get 180ml of product. The product comes in a little box that when you open it contains the tub of the hair treatment.

Above: The tub of Eclipz Argan Oil hair treatment

As you can see the color theme of yellow and brown continues on to the tub. Personally its not the best color co-ordination I have seen, it doesn't look to pretty on my vanity with all my other products but I suppose for the price you can't really nit pick on the little things. Also if you look the label is slanted but little details! It is all about the product inside so lets discuss that!

Above: The hair treatment inside the tub

The product inside is a slight pink tinted cream that you put in your hair. The cream has a light strawberry sent I would say but with that typical conditioner type smell overpowering this. Lets have a look at this products claims. It claims to 'repair and rejuvenate' the hair and is supposed to be 'super strengthening', 'hydrating' and will 'restore' the hair. This is also a product for 'dry' or 'chemically damaged hair' so it should live up to its claim of super hydrating. To use this cream you have to run it through the hair whilst it is wet and leave it in for ten minutes ( a LONG time... I know!)

I used this product when I was two weeks away from my next hair appointment to dye it again. I get a bit of the cream in my hands and run it in-between my fingers and through the roots of my hair, then for the ends of my hair or the actual body I place the cream on the palm of my hand and apply it straight to the hair; all of this is whilst it is wet from the shower. I find it is best to then get out of the shower and do some other beauty stuff whilst I have the ten minute wait for the product!

So is that ten minute wait worth it? The answer is yes! This hair treatment left my hair so soft and it also felt like it was easier to style and much more responsive to my straighteners; by which I mean it got pin straight! On days where I let my hair be natural it made it feel so soft and hydrated it was like I had literally fed my hair! As far as any negatives? Well I just hate that it has to be on for ten minutes. Any less and my hair still feels soft but doesn't last till it has been dried which is annoying! But I suppose since its £4 I'm willing to let the time factor slide to continue using it!

Positives:
  • Cheap
  • Nice pleasant scent
  • A lot of product for the price
Negatives:
  • 10 minute waiting time
  • A Primark range so minimal availability

So do you use any hair treatments? Have you tried Argan Oil? What are your opinions? Let me know in the comments!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush review

Like I said in my review of the Real techniques core essentials brush set which you can see here, I am absolutely in love with the Real techniques range. I, as I'm sure all of you have, have heard a lot about the Expert Face brush. One thing that really appealed to me is how flawless it left foundation looking in all the tutorials I have seen - the ability to make the skin looked flawless, photo ready and pretty much air brushes with just the use of a brush with a product is amazing! So is all the hype earned by this brush? The answer, yes 100%.

Above: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

One thing I do like is how professional the packaging is. Briefly searching through the rack holding up these brushes I realized that all the packaging was in perfect condition meaning its strong so your brush, if you ordered it online, won't get damaged which is good. It's those little things like making the packaging strong that add up. Anyway as you can see this brush holds up to the other Real Techniques brushes and has the name of the brush on the packaging as well as on the Ferell of the brush. The brush bristles again are the same density and softens that I found with the core collection which is fantastic! The handle has a lovely curve to it which is perfect for the positioning of the hand and the bad is flat so if ever you want to stand it on your vanity for display or whilst doing your makeup you can.

I purchased this at boots for £9.99 and to be honest I think it's worth the investment on just the one brush. If you would like to take a look at the brush on the boots website click here. Similarly if you would like to check out the Real Techniques website click here.  If you can only go for one brush in the whole Real Techniques range I would choose this one! Not only could you use this to blend foundation you could also use it to apply your setting powder. Admittedly £10 could be seen as a lot on one makeup brush but comparing to the likes of MAC that charge 30/40 pounds for one brush it is actually reasonable

Above: The Real Techniques Expert face brush and me using the brush to blend

I find the best way to use this with my foundation is to dot the foundation on my skin with my fingers then with a circular motion blend the product out. Much like the Core Collection brushes this brush is so dense hardly any product gets absorbed in to the brush hairs meaning you get more bang for your buck as far as your products go which is always  good thing!

The thing I love about these brushes is they not only allow for a flawless application of your make-up but they also in the long run save you money because you are able to use more of the product on your face and skin. I have even found myself using less product because this brush actually disperses the product more evenly on to the skin.

So is there any fallout?

Well once again no, none. I have washed this twice, once after I bought the brush and once after a weeks use and there was no fallout during any of the washes or during uses. I absolutely love these brushes!

Positives:
  • Fantastic quality
  • Dense bristles that are also soft
  • Professional packaging
  • Blends foundation and powder flawlessly

Negatives:
  • £9.99 could be steep for one brush for some

Really so far the only negative so far I have found with the Real Techniques brushes is that there price can be a bit steep for those who are younger or would rather invest £30 on a brush roll full of brushes as I have done. But personally I think the price is worth it for the quality and with this brush £9.99 is a bargain!

So have you used these brushes? Are you going to get them? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments below!

Real Techniques Core Essentials Brush set review

Above: The Real Techniques Core Collection brush set (Excuse the dirty-ness of the brushes!)

When I first saw these brushes on the make-up artist scene I knew I would want to try them. Okay admittedly I have a full set of make-up brushes and I don't really need these but after I saw the quality of the brushes and the flawless finish they gave on others I couldn't wait to get them as a birthday treat. In fact I loved these so much I got the expert face brush, of which I have reviewed here. However I am getting ahead of myself! Lets get on with the review!

First a little back story on these brushes. These brushes are designed by you-tuber Samantha Chapman or Pixiwoo on youtube. I must admit didn't really subscribe to her till I bought these brushes and had heard about her through peoples reviews of these brushes. If you would like to checkout the Real Techniques website click here

Above: The Real Techniques Core Collection brush set package

As I said bought these after my 21st as a little treat as they are more than I would usually like to pay for just four make-up brushes. These four brushes with the stand/case came to £21.99. Usually I wouldn't even think of buying something like this for that price but in this instance, the quality of the brushes have definitely made it worth every penny I invested. If you are interested go check these brushes out here. One thing I would like to say about all these brushes which I love is that they are so soft but with such dense bristles. After a wash this still remains the same and the shape of the brushes stay exactly the same too.

Above: The back of the packaging, explaining each brush

One thing I like about this set without even opening it is the explanations it offers on the back. For those wanting just a few brushes these sets by Real techniques allow for an explanation of each brush and its use. As you can see in this set comes a Detailer brush, a Pointed foundation brush, a Buffing brush and a Contour brush. Each of the brushes have their name on the ferrell of the brush which again for new users of brushes is a help and for those of us grabbing make-up brushes out of containers in the morning with a frazzled mind!

Above: The Real Techniques Core essentials Buffing brush

First off the buffing brush. I must admit I have always wanted a buffing brush. The flawless finish these brushes give to your skin is lovely so I was keen to seen how the Real Techniques buffing brush would hold up. This brush picks up the powder lovely and disperses pretty much all of the product on your skin. The thing I love about all of these brushes is that they are dense in thickness but so soft! The density of these brushes means less of the product goes in the brush and ends up on your skin. The finish is a flawless finish on the skin and gets rid of any cakeyness on the skin.
Above: On the left the Pointed foundation brush and on the right the Detailer brush

So these two I was kind of so-so about. I already have a pretty good foundation brush so I wasn't sure about trying another. This one is pretty good, does what every foundation brush does only absorbs less of the product. But since I love my other foundation brush I use this to blend in my concealer. The foundation brush is smaller than others I have used which is why I prefer to use it to blend in my concealer. The pointed end also allows you to get concealer into every nook and cranny of your face. As for the detailer brush this is a multi-purpose brush that can be used for concealer or even lipstick. For me I find it perfect to apply my Maybelline tattoo shadows because the gel seems to pack on well with a smaller brush. Really it is up to you how you use this brush but I like it for my eyes! Personally I love how this brush is solid but it is also soft and for the likes of me that has eczema and sensitive skin it is perfect.

Above: The Real Techniques Contour brush

I love this brush too. Again I have wanted a contour brush for a while as I use bronzer to contour my nose and cheekbones. I love this brush to do that it fits right into the gaps of your face and under the bone in order to easily blend the product into the face to contour. Again this brush is so dense but so soft!

I would recommend this set even just for the Buffing brush and the Contour brush. I can't go a day without using these brushes and I love them!

Fallout of brush hair?

I can tell you now there is absolutely no fall out from these brushes. I have washed them twice; once after I bought them and once after I had used them for a week. Through both washes there was absolutely no fall out of hair and none whatsoever as I was using them! I was impressed!

Positives:

  • Four brushes with a holder - for around £20 makes a great starter set and potentially a good birthday or Christmas gift
  • Each brush works incredibly well for its purpose
  • The brushes themselves are sturdy but lightweight to hold
  • All the bristles on every brush are so soft but so dense!
  • The case is easy to clean with just a wet towel or wipe
  • The case allows for easy display of the brushes
  • No fall out of hair

Negative:

  • £20 may seem a bit steep for just 4 brushes and a case

Edit: So a few people have let me know its slightly cheaper over at Amazon! Go check out Amazon if you are interested in these brushes and thank you to the wonderful people letting me know!

How to: Wash and Dry your Makeup Brushes

Washing your make-up brushes is something that everyone does in their own way. There must be a million and one different ways that every one of us washes our brushes; but I thought I'd show you guys how I wash my make-up brushes and give a how to on how you can use my technique!

So here is what you will need:
  • Dirty make-up brushes
  • A towel or flannel
  • Johnson's baby shampoo or any baby shampoo
  • An anti bacterial soap
  • A conditioner, if you can try and get one for colored hair

So here is what you need to do!

1) Grab your Shampoo, anti bacterial soap and conditioner. I'll explain to you what each one of these is for. The baby shampoo is to get rid of surface make-up on the brush and because it designed for babies heads it won't be too abrasive on your make-up brushes. The anti bacterial soap is to get rid of the bacteria that gathers up in your brushes, this basically gets that really deep clean for your brushes. The last product, the conditioner, is to moisturize the brushes as the shampoos lathering effect and the soap that you will use will strip the brushes hair so this will help the bristles remain soft. This will also help to shape the brush back to how you want it. The reason why it is preferable to have a colored hair conditioner is that these conditioners are specifically designed to restore moisture to dry damaged hair from coloring so it will therefore fully restore the moisture in your brushes. Also to those that have make-up brushes with dyed bristles it will help keep the color.

2) Next step is to get your brushes, take the brush you want to clean and wet the bristles. DO NOT get the bit that attaches the bristles to the brush wet. This is called the ferrell and holds all the bristles in place with glue. If you manage to get water in there over time the ferrell will swell with the water and either loosen the ferrell from the brush, crack the ferrell or loosen the brush hair so that your brush will shed hair more. So the number one tip throughout the washing process is to avoid water going near the ferrell.

3) Once your brush has been under the tap its time to grab your baby shampoo and on the palm of your hand or a plate put about a coins width amount on your hand; more for larger brushes, less for smaller brushes. Then grab your anti bacterial soap and squirt two-three amounts of this on to your hand/plate. Now grab your brush and work it in to the solution in a circular motion.

4) Once you have worked the solution in to your brush its time to rinse the brush. Put the brush under running water, feel free to use your hands to work the suds and solution out of the brush; just make sure your hands are clean. If the brush is still dirty make the solution up again and repeat the circular motion and do this until the brush is completely clean. You will probably need to repeat on brushes such as your foundation brush.

5) Next step is to condition the brushes! You put the conditioner over the exterior of the brush and let it settle for the same time you would on normal hair; in this time I usually wash my other brushes.

6) After you have let the conditioner settle on the brush once again all you do is rinse the brush. This should e easier to rinse off than the shampoo and only take about ten seconds to clean off.

Finished!

Now your brushes are clean! Now its time to let your brushes dry! Here are my top tips for drying your brushes!

  • Dry your brushes on a tilt - as you can see in the above picture all of my brushes are tilted up (yes on an ornament and on a trinket box) it doesn't matter on what just as long as they are tilted. Lay them flat or lay them stood up on there bottom with the brush facing to the ceiling and the water will get in to the ferrell; and we know this isn't good!
  • Place down a clean towel or flannel - this is just so the bristles are touching a clean surface
  • Check your brushes as they are drying - this is so you can check that the shape of the brush is drying correctly, with clean hands you can keep re-molding the shape as they are drying.
  • Give plenty of time for your brushes to dry - although the outer exterior of the brush may be dry inside the bristles may still be drying so allow extra time. The last thing you want to do is put a brush in a brush roll/wrap and trap that moisture inside the brush and possibly send it into the ferrell, this will also happen if you stand the brush up as gravity will bring the water down in to the ferrell. Leaving moisture in the brush will allow mildew to develop and ruin the brush.
  • Clean your brushes regularly - I recommend once a week, this is obviously different if you are a make-up artist, but I would recommend once a week to reduce breakouts on the skin and sebum build up.

So that is how I wash my make-up brushes! How do you wash your make-up brushes? What do you use? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to follow the blog!

Seven Deadly Sins Beauty Tag!

Hey Guys! I am doing this post after being tagged by the lovely Emily at http://frecklesandflawsbeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk whose Seven Deadly Beauty tag you can check out here.

So here are the rules of this tag:

1. Follow and link up the person who tagged you.
2. Answer the questions on Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Lust, and Envy.
3. Tag as many people as you wish, and be sure to let them know.
4. Let the person who tagged you know by linking up in the comments.

So here goes nothing!

GREED

'What item is your most expensive beauty item?'

Above: St Tropez Self Tan

By far it is my St Tropez fake tan which comes in at around £20 to £30 pound depending on where you get it. Since I go for drugstore items this is a really high price for me and I thought it would be best investing in something that was going to go all over my body!

WRATH

'What item do you have a love/hate relationship with?'

Above: Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara

I did a review of this mascara here and although I love it for work as its subtle but it still looks like I have mascara on I still feel like it actually makes my eyelashes drop as the day goes on, like to the point where they look lower than the normal way my lashes lay without mascara on... A weird one this mascara.

GLUTTONY

'What brand makes up most of your beauty collection?'

Above: Rimmel, MUA, Natural Collection and Maybelline products

See this is where I had problems! I basically have a lot of these four brands; Rimmel, MUA, Natural Collection and Maybelline. If I had to say which one had the most I would say Rimmel closely followed by MUA.

SLOTH

'What product do you neglect most due to laziness'

Above: Primark Eyelash Curler

If you would like check out my review of this eyelash curler here. I am just so bad at remembering to curl my eyelashes. The curler is RIGHT there near my make-up and I always seem to forget; especially of an early morning. So lately I've been making sure I remember too!

PRIDE

'What product gives you the most confidence?'

Above: Maybelline The Rocket mascara

I have also done a review of this product here if you would like to check it out. I love doing dark eye makeup and this mascara just helps me to achieve that look. It also elongates and darkens my already long eyelashes that I love so it helps to attract attention to a feature I like about myself!

LUST

'What item is at the top of your beauty list?'

I don't so much have an item as I love just browsing the shops to see what I like or see what are re-occurring items that are coming up in peoples blogs or on YouTube but there is a particular brand I have always wanted to try; MAC. But they are so out of my price range and part of me can't justify spending that much! I was tempted to when I turned 21 as a big treat but! If I had to choose I would love to own a few of their make-up brushes or a MAC foundation.
ENVY

'Which makeup/product is great on others but not yourself?'

Basically all highlighter type products just don't agree with my face. I try using them under my brow bone or on my cheeks and I just don't like the look of them. I don't know if its because I have a round face or I am conscious of the bright look they give in contrast with my T-zone but I just don't tend to agree with them!

People I am tagging:

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this tag post! What are your Deadly Sins of Beauty? Let me know in the comments!

Why nail polish lovers should go checkout Poundland!

If you're the type of shopper that likes to rummage through bargain bins or products to find a steal I encourage you to read on!

Above: The various nail polishes I purchased and some nail polish remover and nail art studs

So as you can see I picked up a bit. The smaller ones that you can see in packs of three used to be £3 for the three but is now £1 for all three. At first I was reluctant to buy so many but I thought I could give them away or I will probably use them for water marbling or on friends. So lets get on to this haul!

Above: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 430 Grass Slipper

From what I can tell this one is either discontinued or not largely stocked. The largest range of colors I could find where on boots here so go check that out. As you can tell from the link these bottles go for £6.99 and I got this for a £1. I know what you're thinking... Are they thick and horrible? Do they smell overly chemically? Have the colors separated? The answer to all of those is no, I was expecting this to be a little thicker than a normal polish due to the price but its good as new! Bargain! The photo of the polish on the nail was also just one coat of the color, how amazing!

Above: Collection 2000: Hot Looks Fast Dry in 29 Big Hair

Now as most of you may know, Collection 2000 has recently narrowed its name to just Collection. So I am assuming that these ended up here due to the re-branding of packaging. I did manage to find these so go check out here where this particular color is available. For one of these you pay £1.99 which is already really cheap but I got three for £1! Again another bargain! Considering I always paint my toes red I think this was a good investment!
Above:  Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry in 52 Shimmy Shake

This one still is on the website so go check it out here if you're interested. As you can see the packaging has changed so once again probably the reason for its new home in Poundland. To be honest I was expecting this to be a massive fail, you know how some glitter polishes can just be a disappointment even when they are brand new? I thought for a pound for the three of these glitter polishes it would end badly but actually I really like this polish. I think it will make a good one to use for Christmas.

Above: Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry in 49 Angel wings

This polish is gorgeous, I'm sorry I think I actually fell in love with this color. It is a solid grey color and I just love it. After one coat it is a solid color too! I was so impressed! Once again I couldn't find this color but go check out here for the range. What can I say? I love it and now I have three of it, score!

Above: Swatches of the three Collection 200 Colors

Sorry for my messy nails, this was just a quick one coat to show you what they look like!

Above: Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish in 315 Cocktail Passion

These Rimmel polishes I am so bargain happy over. These bad boys retail for around £4.59 and I got them for a pound! Getting three could have cost me just shy of £15 instead I only spend £3! This color can be found on so go check it out here if you'd like to buy it at boots. I have a few pinks in my collection now as I am not a big fan of pink I liked this subtle pink that I think looks great for summer.

Above: Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish in 358 Jungle Princess

I've been wanting a new brown for ages, but since its not a color I wear regularly I didn't want to splurge so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to go pick one up! I must admit because of the dark color of this I couldn't work out if the solution inside had gone off, but it hadn't so we were okay! Once again I couldn't find this color but you can go check out here for the rest of the range.
Above: Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish in 371 Sea Green

I love these types of greens so I was exited to get this at Poundland too! Again this color was really solid and bright and I loved it. I was able to find this online so go check it out here. I definitely think this is another summer color that could be used a lot this year.

Above: Swatches of these colors

As you can see once again after one coat these colors are incredibly solid. With all these polishes I am extremely happy with the quality of the polishes and how opaque the color is on the nail.

So overall I am so happy I popped in there to look. Now whenever I see a Poundland I am going to have a rummage through the discount nail stuff!

So have you ever picked up a bargain like this? Do you have any recommendations for places to get some great bargains? Leave them in the comments!

21st Birthday look

Hey guys! So first off, sorry for the lack of blog activity this weekend and the lack of the usual Sunday blog post! As I mentioned in previous blog posts this weekend was my 21st birthday, the 9th of June, so for three days I have been out of the house, going out and pretty much draining my local pubs and clubs of their alcohol one drink at a time! So I thought I'd do a little blog post on what I wore for the Friday and Saturday nights out!

So the first night on Friday was our pre night out. The Friday night photo is on the left sorry for the dark lighting! The dress I actually got last year, I didn't buy a new dress for the Friday because to be honest I didn't think it would be a proper night out; so I just went dressed nicely! The dress was from new look last year and my lace ballet pumps were from new look this year. I also got bought a birthday girl sash by my mum and threw on a cropped cardigan that I got from Dorothy Perkins years ago.

As for the main night on the Saturday I wore a white and black patterned dress with cut out sections on the sides just under the bust. This dress was from Primark and was about 15 pound I believe. I also got my jewellery from there so it all only cost me £20! I used heels I already owned which are from new look last year once again and only had a four inch heels since I'm pretty tall naturally. And again I wore my little cropped cardigan since the heat was intense on both nights! I was worried about this dress because of showing my sides but after seeing the pictures in the morning I really do like how it looked and I won't be worried about dresses with cut outs anymore!

Above: what I wore on the Sunday day and a close up of Fridays dress.

The right photo shows me before the whole weekend looking rested! Ah before the wild weekend! As for Sunday, when I looked absolutely knackered, I wore this lovely off white/ slightly pink laced dress by Dorothy Perkins (seen on the left) which my dad bought me for my birthday! I loved it it was very light for the hot weather and was feminine but covered me and was modest! It also went with the locket my mum, dad and nan bought me for my birthday. I was a very lucky girl!

So thanks for understanding about the blog posts over the weekend! Things back to normal this week!

When is your birthday? What do you plan to wear/ what did you wear?
