Sensationail Deluxe Gel Starter Kit - Review

Hello everyone! This blog post has been a long time coming! As always I really like to make sure that I trial and test products before I post a review on them. But here we finally have it! I bought the deluxe set on half price offer, which I have to admit was the mega temptation that broke my resistance, however the usual sets cost around £69.99.

Sensationail Deluxe Gel Starter Kit

I bought this at the beginning of December. I was umming and ahhing about it for a while. The reason being is that I rarely wear polish during the working week because it would always chip. I always have very little time too so it would fall to the wayside. However of course, as I am sure you nail fanatics will know, Sensationail claims to offer two whole weeks of chip free nail polish. So eventually I took the chance and ordered myself an early Christmas present... oops!

Sensationail Pro 3060 LED Lamp

So here is the main bit of kit. The Sensationail Pro 3060 LED lamp which is the perfect size for doing your fingernails and your toenails. The lamp itself plugs in to the wall and has a light that when switched on remains on for 60 seconds for curing. It also beeps at the 30 second mark to let you know!

Sensationail Nail Polishes
With this particular set came two polish colours, raspberry wine and pink chiffon, as well as your gel base and top coat.

Sensationail Gel Primer

You also get a bottle of the gel primer....

Sensationail Gel Cleanser

... as well as the gel cleanser. Luckily you can pick up replacements of all the necessities to complete your manicure rather than buying a whole new complete set.

Sensationail Glitter

With this being the deluxe set I also received two glitter applicators which to be honest I haven't really used much of however it's nice to have it included.

Sensationail Tools

You also get the lint free wipes and usual nail bits and bobs too. I won't go too much in to detail with how to perform the manicure as it comes with pretty in detail instructions with the system... I'll just write a pretty brief summary for you...however I will say it is pretty simple and I must say very quick.

Prep
File and buff your nails. Push back any existing cuticles.

Application
1) Remove any nail polish from your nails and wipe your nails with the gel cleanser.
2) Apply the gel primer to the nail. Allow this to air dry (which takes around 30 seconds).
3) Apply your gel base coat. Cure in the LED lamp for 30 seconds.
4) Apply your gel colour. Cure for 60 seconds.
5) Apply your gel top coat.
6) Wipe your nails with the lint free towels and the gel cleanser.

And your done!

Removal
Soak your hands in acetone and wipe your nail polish off. You can also invest in the Sensationail removal kit.

Below are a few looks I have created with the kit before I give you my final verdict!

These are just a few photos of the nail looks I have created with this kit. Some are with Sensationail polishes and some are with some normal nail polishes from my collection with a gel top coat. This is one of the reasons that I love this kit... it;s so versatile! I also love it because it does last the full two weeks! With some of these looks I ended up switching up my look because I was bored of my polish. That never happens! Usually it has chipped off long before I decide to change the colour! The shine is also absolutely gorgeous from these nails.

Overall if you have the money and you are nail obsessed then this kit is totally worth the invest or worth going on your Christmas/birthday wish list!

What is your favourite gel nail kit or gel nail colour from Sensational? Are you a fan of gel nails? Yay or nay? Let me know in the comments!

Hello everyone! I'm very proud that I've been posting regular fashion posts this month! I hope you're all enjoying them and enjoying watching me try to pose for OOTD./N posts!

OOTN - 17.01.15

Dress - George at Asda
Legging - Warehouse
Heeled boots - New Look

Firstly I just want to sing George at ASDAs praises this month! Every time I pop in there I always spot a new floral dress I want. They also see to be nailing structured dresses like this one here. These dresses are also very thick so they are perfect for the cold winter nights. I've worn this dress for work and to go out so it is totally versatile! I just can't say no to a good old floral dress!

Product Empties #15

Product Empties #15

Hello everyone! I have been putting off writing off this product empties for such a long time. So much so in fact that I already have another bag full of empties ready to photograph! I must admit that since moving out, around 5 months ago now, I've dug out a lot of products that I had stored away and I have finally used them up! So let's take a look!

Batiste XXL Volume - Dry Shampoo

Long time readers of my blog will know how much I am obsessed with the Batiste XXL Dry Shampoo. It works wonders for second day hair and adds such incredible volume. It's also great for those of you like me that have a full fringe and hate the annoying gaps that form. This keeps those gaps at bay!

L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect - Shampoo

I have been a loyal customer to L'Oreal. I have used their colour protect shampoo and conditioner for years... however now I have in fact changed my shampoo and conditioner! Yes I know shock horror! The reason? I fancied a change! I would totally go back to this shampoo however as it really does help extend the life of a colour and all in all is a good shampoo.

Soft & Gentle and Sure Deodorant

Oh deodorants... The more dull product empties. In the process of the move I found so many deodorants that were either near empty or half empty. So of course I made it my goal to finish them all of before buying in any more! As you can tell I'm a Soft & Gentle fan!

Impulse Body Spray - Temptation

Once again another product I dug out. An Impulse body spray in the scent temptation. I'm all about body sprays and perfumes. This had a nice florally perfumey scent... here I am trying to describe a scent again. Will I ever learn?

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil Free Make-up Remover

The Neutrogena oil free make-up remover is my all time favourite make-up remover, particularly for on the go or when you're away from home. Sadly I can't find it any more which really upsets me! If any of you know if it is still being made do let me know!

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash

The boots tea tree and witch hazel foaming wash is great for younger acne prone skin. I ended up using this up as my everyday facial wash since I don't tend to suffer with acne any more. However when I was younger and I did I fell in love with this product. The scent is gorgeous and fresh and the foam itself lathers beautifully.

Loverdose Tattoo - Diesel

Once again here we have another empty of a staple product to me. The Loverdose Diesel perfume. Any of you that like the original Loverdose perfume will love this deeper and muskier version.

Simply Pure - Wipes

I picked up these Simply Pure wipes a while back for my daily face wipes. I like to give my face a quick wipe in the morning before I do my hair and make-up for work. It just means I can have a quick freshen up! I know make-up wipes get a lot of negative press in the blogging world but I think my skin will forgive me for the odd freshening up!

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Wipes

The same goes for these Kind To Skin cleansing wipes. I used these to freshen my face up as well. I must admit they are much better that the Simply Pure ones I found in Poundland... as you would expect. But the Simply Pure ones are a great affordable alternative.

The Co-operative Nail Varnish Remover

This nail polish remover ended up being a hidden gem for myself. I once asked Gaz to pick me up some nail polish remover when I was staying at his and freshening up my nails. He ended up picking up the co-operative nail varnish remover and it works unbelievably well. It removes polish so easily and doesn't leave your hands and nails feeling ridiculously dry.

Simply Home - Yankee Candles

I've become obsessed with candles since moving out. I've got more in my house than I care to admit to and I have gone through far too many in the past 5 months of living here. I finished a simply home Yankee Candle jar of cherry vanilla and two samplers from the simply home Yankee Candle range; cranberry zest and vanilla frosting.

Dove Beauty Cream Bar

I'm a picky one when it comes to soap. I have to watch what sets of my sensitive skin. The dove beauty cream bar was gentle enough that it didn't seem to make me all red and itchy! Thoroughly recommend for any of you that also suffer from sensitive skin.

Bath Bombs, Face Masks and Samples!

Lastly I have a few bath bombs that I finished from the Wilkinsons range. They are so affordable that it's actually nice to be able to use them on a regular basis and not feel guilty! The scents are absolutely gorgeous too. I must admit however rhubarb and vanilla was my least favourite... The face mask was also lovely and left my skin feeling soft and smelling beautiful! You can also see I got through a little sachet of the Clarins serum. It was nice to try but you can never really tell how well a product like this works from such a small sample sachet!

OOTD 10.01.15

Hello everyone! Once again I am writing another OOTD post! I'm on a role! I seem to have come up with a good routine of taking OOTD posts in the weekend when Gaz is around to be my photographer! I don't know how fashion bloggers do it! I hate having to choose a photo of myself! Anyway on to the outfit!

OOTD 10.01.15

Scarf - M&S
Black T-shit - Dorothy Perkins
Skirt - M&S
Leggings - George at Asda
Boots - New Look
Satchel - George at Asda
Watch - H Samuel

I hope you are all beginning to see that I like to buy my clothes from a range of different places. I'm a massive fan of affordability but if I like something I like it! Whether its from George at Asda or Next, Primark or Dorothy Perkins I tend to buy what I know suits me and makes me feel comfortable and fashionable!

When I wore this outfit it was pretty windy so I teamed it with my usual winter coat and braced the elements! Which pieces do you like from my OOTD? Where do you pick up your winter staple pieces from? Let me know in the comments!

Cath Kidston - Wild Flower Bluebell - Shower Gel and Body Cream - Review

Now that 2015 is under-way I have returned full force with a ton of reviews of new products I am trying. I was very blessed to receive a lot of new things from family and friends to try at Christmas and I have been indulging myself in them since!

Cath Kidston - Wild Flower Bluebell - Shower Gel and Body Cream

Ever since moving out I have become a little bit obsessed with Cath Kidston. I love the shabby chic theme to a lot of the furniture and décor pieces she does. Don't get me wrong I love modern looking homes but there is something homely about floral decorations, throws and pastel colours!

I had no idea Cath Kidston did toiletries so this was a really big surprise for me! I am obsessed with shower gels, body lotions and potions and different scents so I was very exited to give these two products a go!

First the shower gel. I love the lather this gives! It is incredible. Surprisingly when squeezed out of the tube it was a blue colour so I was expecting it to be minty in smell however it has a very mature scent. I must admit I prefer more youthful and fruity scents however I still enjoyed this mature scent. The only problem I have with this shower gel is the packaging... who makes a twist top for products used in the shower?!? It's cruel and adds a good few minutes of me trying to get the lid off with soapy, wet hands!

The same has to be said for the body cream. The cream itself is very smooth and luxurious. I must admit because I have sensitive skin and the scent is strong I tend to use this mid week on good skin days just to keep my skin feeling smooth.

Have you tried any Cath Kidston toiletries? What are your favourite shower gels and body creams? What would you recommend? Let me know in the comments below!

Yankee Candle - Candy Cane Lane - Review

This may seem like a strange review to post in January however I have spotted this candle in the January sales and thought a few of you may want to snatch it up!

For those of you that have been following me since I moved out you will know how obsessed I have become with candles and scents. At Christmas I was so looking forward to receiving this candle from the other half! This particular scent is called Candy Cane lane!

Yankee Candle - Candy Cane Lane

Despite being obsessed with candles I am particularly picky with scents I choose. I like them to smell as authentic as possible and not a random scent if that makes sense? Probably not! Anyway! This candle smells EXACTLY like candy canes. I demolish far too many packs of candy canes during the Christmas season so this candle seems like the perfect scent to give me that Christmas feeling!

I burnt this so much over the Christmas season. Now sadly it is sitting waiting on my bookshelf to be burnt again come Christmas 2015! However I am always taking off the lid and smelling this candle as I walk past it! I totally recommend this for those of you looking to pick up some candles in the sales. Gaz purchased this for me for Christmas for £19.99 however I have seen it on sale recently for around £14.99 for the large jar! Bargain!

What is your favourite Christmas scent? What are you burning now? Let me know in the comments below!

OOTD - 04.01.15

Hello everyone! Call it eagerness but I thought I would post another OOTD! Don't worry the reviews haven't left... in fact I have more than I care to admit to review currently so stay tuned for those! I got such a great response from my new years OOTD it really gave me the confidence to post another! However you may have to put up with my awkward posses for a while!

OOTD - 04.01.15

Yesterday was a rather chilly but sunny day so it was rather odd to dress for! I ended up choosing:

Hooded parka coat: New Look
Scarf - M&S
Black t-shirt - New Look
Red skater skirt - New Look
Leggings - Warehouse
Knee high boots - New Look
Satchel - George at Asda

So yes it was a very New Look heavy day! I am a massive fan of a lot of their clothes so you will probably see them featuring a lot in my OOTDs!

Where is your favourite place to clothes shop? How are you combating the cold start to 2015? Let me know in the comments!

New Years - OOTD

First things first, a massive happy new year to you all! I hope you celebrated new year in your own special way! This new years meant a lot to me as it was the first in my own home, first being engaged and it sees the introduction of the last year of my teacher training. Then who knows what the future holds for me past June?

One of my blogging goals, which I'm still deciding if I should write a post on or not, is to post more outfit of the days. I thought I would start off with what I wore to see in the new year!

New Years - OOTD

You will have to forgive my far from flattering smile... I'm still very awkward at taking photos!

Coat: New Look
Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Leggings: Warehouse
Boots: New Look

I spent my new years having a few drinks at home then at a few local pubs. However at midnight I made sure I was back home at Gaz. Midnight and the start of a new year, here comes the cheesy part, means a lot to me and every time I reach a new year I am grateful. Growing older and meeting each year is a privilege we should all cherish.

I hope you had a fantastic new year! How did you celebrate? Let me know in the comments!
